i miss you.

this summer has been relentless, but productive. this isn't the sound of me complaining, just a little bit exhausted is all.

since april/may of this year, projects have lined up, and i have been lucky. either prepared for the opportunity, or willing to work my way to earning it. since returning to my hometown, i've been better able to gauge my personal growth. for this, i am grateful.

jiny ung and i have been named the round 27 fellows for Houston's Project Rowhouses. the interactive installation will open mid-October.

find us :)

i read an old diary of mine, and discovered that i still love the potential in people the same way did years ago. they are hand-selected. recently, i'm fighting inklings. when i begin to say "endearing" repeatedly, well, i believe you and i both know what that means. (as my horoscope predictor is insanely accurate. which reminds me, i adopted a baby wallaby who i am training to be a champion racer. thanks, fbook!)

mmmmm! isn't public process tasty?!
i miss the people i love.
i will be reunited with them soon.
soon, i will be in the bay area for the first time in my adult life.

Other than that, she is a proud founding member of Filipinas for Rights and Empowerment, a mass-based organization for Filipinas in the NYC area. Hanalei has also toured around the country as a performer and is the author of Foiled Stars, Letters to Martha, and the one-woman show, Guns and Tampons: A History of Violence Against Women I Know. Hanalei currently lives and works in her native Jersey City, NJ. For more information about her, please visit
