Lots of construction on every page, as this website is birthed from the boredom of a Friday night, where I am babysitting. Amidst school, friends, love, and the rest of it, life is somewhat turbulent. I am currently hassling the hell out of two wonderful women I will call Tekla and AM, as my first chapbook reaches completion! They are helping me with cover art and layout respectively, and I couldn't be more grateful than to have these two women see me through this first time o' mine. I'll admit: I HAVE NO CLUE WHAT I"M DOING! So, kindly await Letters to Martha as it will be ready in March 2006! How exciting! I will finally have a chappy of my own. GO ME!

Quick Bio

Hanalei Ramos is a very nice person and a stereotypical aquarius. FACT: while it is a common misconception that “aquarius, the water bearer” is a water sign, it is not. It is actually an air sign! Other than that, she is a proud founding member of Filipinas for Rights and Empowerment, a mass-based organization for Filipinas in the NYC area. Hanalei has also toured around the country as a performer and is the author of Foiled Stars, Letters to Martha, and the one-woman show, Guns and Tampons: A History of Violence Against Women I Know. Hanalei currently lives and works in her native Jersey City, NJ. For more information about her, please visit
